Orange and mint salad

Oranges are an excellent source of vitamin C. One orange (~140g) has ~83mg Vitamin C and the Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDAs) for Vitamin C for adults (19+ years) is 75mg and 90mg for women and men, respectively.



Ingredients

4 oranges

12 soft dates, stoned, sliced lengthways

Small bunch mint leaves finely chopped, plus a few left whole

1 tbsp rose syrup or rosewater

Directions:

  1. Peel then segment the oranges, removing the white pith.
  2. Place in a bowl along with any juices, then add the dates, chopped mint, and rose syrup and toss gently.
  3. Divide between 4 dessert bowls, scatter on the mint leaves, and serve.
