Salsa is the Spanish word for "sauce". Salsa can be traced back to the Inca empire (South American Indians), the Mayans, and the Aztecs.
Ingredients
6 red & ripe tomatoes
1 bunch of fresh coriander
1 onion
2 green chillies
1 clove of garlic
1 or 2 lemons
Olive oil
Directions:
- Finely chop the tomatoes and coriander (with the stalks) and place them into a large bowl.
- Peel and finely chop the onion, deseed and finely chop the chilies, then add into the bowl. Peel and finely grate in the garlic.
- Squeeze in the juice from 1 lemon, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil, and mix well. Season to taste with salt, black pepper, and more lime juice, if needed. Cover and set aside for a few hours to let all those flavors develop.
